      铝土矿是直接生产氧化铝的原料,而三水型铝土矿占整个铝土矿资源的90%以上。因此,铝土矿资源勘探的目的是找到含Al2O3高,而含SiO2等杂质低的矿石。传统的三水铝土矿勘查的样品检测过程中,化验室要利用X荧光光谱分析仪(XRF)或其它化学分析测定Al2O3、SiO2、Fe2O3、TiO2含量,以及通过马弗炉焙烧测定其烧失量(LOI)。数据要及时的传递给勘查现场以便指导配合探矿工作的开展。XRF及辅助设备价格昂贵,并要求特殊的工作环境和条件,不便在流动性大,又常在边远山区工作的地质勘探队的随队化验室中配置,而随着施工范围不断加大,中心实验室提供分析结果往往不能保证野外施工的需要。因此为了加快施工进度而又不盲目布置钻孔,需要寻找一种简便的检验方法,快速的判断出Al2O3的数值。本文详细论述了烧失量中的成分,以及与Al2O3之间关系,建立了LOI与Al2O3的经验公式,经过验证,确定了该关系公式的合理性。该法的提出具有较强的实践应用性,对类似条件的铝土矿床现场勘查评价具有一定的参考价值。

      Bauxite is a kind of raw material for production of Aluminum, and the gibbsite-type bauxite occupied more than 90 percent of bauxite resource. The purpose of resource exploration for bauxite is to find high Al2O3, low SiO2 and other low impurity ore. During traditional sample assays of gibbsite bauxite, lab always use XRF or other chemical assays to test the quantity of Al2O3、SiO2、Fe2O3、TiO2, and use Muffle furnace to measure LOI. All the analysis data should send to site camp for exploration. But XRF and other equipments are very expensive, and also need special working environment or conditions. These equipments are not suitable for field investigation with team of geology exploration, which the team moves all the time and works inside mountain far from the town. With exploration range was increased, analysis data from the central lab cannot always assure the need of field exploration. For making sure the schedule of field exploration with less useless drill holes, so a kind of simple assay need to be found for analysis result of Al2O3 as fast as we can.This article discussed the component of LOI in detail, the relation between LOI and Al2O3, and established an empirical formula according to LOI and Al2O3. After the verification, the formula is rational. This method can apply for other filed exploration of Lateritic-Gibbsite type bauxite, and it is very useful for evaluation of similar condition of bauxite.
