The certain area of Xinjiang is one of the potential oil and gas resource blocks in the west, but the hydrocarbon generation potential of source rocks is not clear at present, which restricts the oil and gas exploration and well location deployment in the later period of the region. Based on the data of logging, logging, core, analysis and production testing, the petrological characteristics of the middle and lower Jurassic source rocks in 某 region are defined, the organic characteristics of the source rocks are clarified, the changes of the elements and sedimentary environment of the source rocks are sorted out, and the hydrocarbon generation resources of the favorable source rocks are estimated. The research shows that: In the study area, the Xishanyao Formation and Badaowan Formation develop dark mudstone, carbonaceous mudstone and coal rock with a thickness of 354.7m. The macerals are vitrinite and inertinite, with TOC ranging from 1.6 to 4.1%, hydrocarbon generation potential ranging from 3.1 to 8.9mg/g and Ro ranging from 0.61 to 0.87%. The organic matter types are type II2 and type III. Organic matter is mature and has a medium to high abundance. It is a favorable sedimentary environment for the reduction of warm and wet fresh water. The volume fraction method is used to estimate the hydrocarbon generation resources of the middle and lower Jurassic source rocks to be 23.58×108m3. In the later stage, the oil and gas trap in the northern part of the study area is the key exploration objective, which is conducive to making new breakthroughs in exploration. The above research contents and results provide an important decision-making basis for the study area to select the following favorable areas and well location deployment. |
